Knowledge Workers

Knowledge workers (KW) are comprised of producer (author) and users of information and digital assets (text, image, graphic, numerical data, audio and/or video files) to perform or support their work. We classify knowledge workers based on job titles, activities and skills.



Producers


These are individuals and workgroups in organizations that earns more than 50% of their income producing information, content or digital assets such as text, art, graphics, audio, or streaming media/video.



Users


These are individuals and workgroups in organizations that earns less than 50% of their income producing information, content or digital assets, but primarily use information and all types of media to drive sales, markets and business and/or process improvements to create value for customers and shareholders.


Consumers


These are individuals and workgroups in organizations that earn nothing from their use or production of information, but use content and media to influence buying and selling, and/or sources of supply to fulfill self-service satisfactions.
