Text-based Authoring

Text-based authoring relates to the development and production of text using authoring tools and software programs designed to develop text or alphanumeric-based documents, software code, templates, scripts, macros, style sheets, HTML, XML, Java and other types of software languages used to develop applications and systems. Many text editors, word processors and programming tools provide the user with many capabilities such as spell checking and rechecking; word substitution (thesaurus); search and replace; autosuggestion and correction; pagination; translation; auto captioning; book marking; hyper linking; fact-checking; defining (glossary lookup); auto copy; auto recovery; highlighting; hyphenation; indexing; bulleting and numbering; and text conversion, to name a few.
